From my high horse, the view has been great for looking down on those engaging in silly practices related to Christmas in July. For years, I mostly ignored Christmas movies over summer break and the like. I mean, seriously? We can’t have Christmas all year and expect it to maintain its appeal. I thought I was safe from being sucked in.
But I wasn’t. I’ve been pulled right on in with everybody else. It is with great joy that I admit to that I have willingly stepped down from my high horse and placed it snuggly back in it’s stall. This July, I have participated in a very fun Christmas in July activity with a great online group of Christian crafters. Using the format of a giveaway, group members were permitted to contribute items to give to other members who win fun little games we play within the group. I certainly wanted to contribute something, but not anything premade. Soon, miniature junk journals came to mind before I realized,,,I hadn’t ever completed a journal before. Never. Not once in life had I ever created a journal that was ready to gift. I have consumed probably months worth of content about creating journals of all kinds. But hadn’t built a journal from the ground up.
What a great excuse to have fun and to experiment. The results are two micro journals that I have already contributed to the giveaway. Here is the first.

I now understand the hype behind this process. It’s soothing, satisfying, and scratches the creative itch. I look forward to creating more!
